The country has diverse topography, considerable climatic variations, and several habitat types. Wild plants constitute a very important component of Jordan’s biological diversity. Conservation of this natural heritage is listed high on the priorities of the government. The total number of plant species recorded in Jordan exceeds 2500 species of which 100 are endemic.
