The project plans to build local capacities and raise public awareness for biodiversity mainstreaming and the economic value of biodiversity by demonstrating the economic benefits of livelihoods linked to biodiversity conservation. It has also produced a Toolkit for Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Jordan.

It will mainstream biodiversity conservation in sylvo-pastoral and rangeland management activities, particularly in buffer zones associated with existing (and proposed) Nature Reserves, and produce local economic benefits and poverty alleviation in a sustainable and replicable manner. The project will also share knowledge to replicate successes elsewhere in Jordan.
